04/29/07: "GET DOWN AND RIDE!" CD RELEASE PARTY! 09/10/05: PYB will be participating in a few benefits to help those affected by Katrina. 09/10/05: November alert!!! 02/10/05: Pat Boyack to produce the next PYB album? Effective 1/20/05, Pauline, Susan, and Smokey - as well as T-Bird Huck - will no longer be hosting the Carter's Place Wednesday Jam. Like a pair of dirty underwear, the club has decided it is time for a change. PYB's band gig at Carter's in March is still a go - come see our dirty selves as planned! Pauline and the gang would like to give a huge thanks to all of the musicians who have come out over the years to lend their music and friendship...it was a great thing. See you guys out on the circuit! Muddy Water is finishing up 2004 with a bang! The album finished a 17 week run on the "Roots Music Report" chart (and boy are our legs tired!). We also finished up the year by sneaking onto the Living Blues Top 25 (Todd Glazer is Santa Claus!). Thanks to all of the stations and media that gave us a helping hand. Magazine articles:
Blues Revue, October/November 2002, "Hot Debut" "From out of nowhere - actually, the middle of Illinois - comes this refreshing young Midwestern singer/guitarist and her band." And from out of nowhere came this great review from a premier blues publication! Read on... Internet articles: www.blueswax.com, From Wine to (Muddy) Water, 8/11/04. "The world of music has seen its share of one-hit wonders. Even upstart artists who have a full smash album often suffer the sophomore slump with a weak second effort. Pauline York and her band's second album, Muddy Water, deftly avoids such disappointment." www.utahblues.org ...Pauline sings and plays lead guitar, but what sets her apart in my mind is the quality and depth of her vocals. The rest of the band is tight and powerful, too, combining for a full, driving sound throughout the album. The Blues Site, December 2003. "This is the BLUES! Remains one of the best CD's I've received all year! " Read on... www.blueswax.com, 6/4/03. "Take a sip of north central Illinois' Pauline York's spectacular vintage, Blackberry Wine. Her vocals give lady Blues maverick Susan Tedeschi a run for her money while paying guitar homage to Tab Benoit and Stevie Ray Vaughan, her number one and two guitar influences." Blues On Stage, October 2002 CD Review, by Gordon Baxter. "With Blackberry Wine, Pauline York has come up with a good album for those who like a slightly harder edge to their blues without straying over into blues-rock." Read on...
